Rules of IBFA

 

The Chairman determine the membership criteria for

Athletes, Judges and Officials.

Athletes, Judges and Officials who become Members  must have a MEMBERSHIP CARD in order to administer, compete, or judge at competition or act in an official capacity within the IBFA. This card must be renewed on an annual basis, at the beginning of each year. A fee of € 50.00 is charged for each card. Should an Athlete, Judge or resign, retire, or be suspended or expelled, the card must be returned to President.

Every Member  has the right to participate in, and to benefit from, any activity  of the and meets the qualification criteria of that activity.

Athletes, Judges and Officials choose to become Members by

their own free will. All individuals, on requesting MEMBERSHIP CARD

accept and agree to abide RULES.

IBFA also has power to impose disciplinary way or sanctions against  Member

who violate the  Rules published at www.ibfasport.com.

Introduction:
The International Bodybuilding & Fitness Association was founded in Auxerre, France on Saturday November 6, 1999.
Those members present (Michel Gauthier, Roger Noon, Brian Haslam, Lisa Morgan, Dusko Madzarovic, Bertrand Menduga and Abderrahim Ahmaddouch) designated Biagio Filizola of Italy as president of the new association.

 

Rules:
1) The founding partners are lifelong members of the IBFA.
2) the IBFA is a not-for-profit organization.
3) all may join the IBFA without fear of discrimination.
4) every nation represented in the IBFA may organize a chapter of the IBFA in his own country if he wishes.
5) the national representatives do not pay dues to the international IBFA.
6) the national representatives are to be present at the Mr. & Miss Europa and Mr. & Miss World competitions.
7) after two absences from the competitions, the position of national representative can be assigned to others who apply for it.
8) Meetings within the IBFA may effect at the European and World championships,  if required by more national representatives.

Men’s international competitions:
Juniors under 23
Short -170cm
Medium 170-178 cms
Tall + 178 cms
Over 45 - Over 55 - Over 65 -
Overalls men's  and women's classes.

Women’s international competitions:
Miss Shape (figures): Comparisons, personal Routine
Miss Bodybuilding (physique):
 Comparisons, personal Routine
Miss Fitness: three rounds, Bikini, Personal Routine, clothed.

Categories are not obbligatory.
The organizers are required to arrange for these in advance if at least three participants apply for a category.

Juniors under 18
Short, light weight. Height in cms-100+2kg
Average, light weight. H-100+3kg
Tall, light weight. H-100+4kg
Couples
Professionals: competitors from any nation are welcome; money prizes.
 

Competitions:
1) The IBFA organizes international Grand Prix, European and World competitions
2) the competitions of the IBFA are open.  National representatives enroll their teams, and they have the power to revoke the registration of resident athletes in their own nation.
3) the organizers of the competitions must  print posters of the competition which include a large and visible logo of the IBFA and send them to all representatives.
4) the national teams will be composed of of seven athletes, a national representative and a competition judge.
5) the organizers must  welcome foreign athletes at the nearest airport and transport them to their hotel.
6) the official hotel must be at least three stars and near the competition site.
7) the organizers must cover all hotel and breakfast expenses for the foreign teams for two days (nearby countries) or three days (remote countries).
8) the national teams must be taken back to the nearest airport. 

Jury:
1) The judging panels shall be composed of an odd number of participants: seven or nine..
2) every nation can designate a competition judge.
3) the Head Judge announces the comparisons.
4) English, French and Italian are the languages used in the competitions and meetings of the IBFA.
5) the organizers have to arrange for translators of the local language into English and French.
6) the Head Judge and Secretary is responsible for calculating the results, and to show them to other Judges before the awards.
7) Depending upon the number of judges, one or two of the highest and lowest votes may be eliminated so that there will be a total of at least three valid votes.
